General Summary:

AECOM International Development is preparing for an upcoming USAID-funded Municipal Governance Program in Afghanistan and seeks a mid-level Regional Office/Program Manager whose experience includes formulating, planning and implementing programs in post-conflict environments. The anticipated objectives include: clarifying local governance framework; providing policy guidance and assistance to sub-national entities; strengthening legal, fiscal, economic and service delivery functions; and fostering greater participatory environments with an emphasis on inclusion of previously marginalized populations.

Qualifications:
  • Previous Program Management experience on large-scale, complex USAID projects in difficult post-conflict, unstable environments is required. Preference is given for prior Afghanistan experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing technical assistance to USAID-funded governance and/or public services projects.
  • Master’s degree or higher in relevant field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Pashto, Dari or Urdu is desirable but not required.
