Position Summary:
MSI is seeking candidates with experience in the court system and law enforcement for an upcoming project to strengthen the judicial sector in Afghanistan. We are seeking judges, lawyers, court administration specialists and law enforcement professionals with in-depth experience (domestic or international) to train Afghan counterparts in their roles, responsibilities and best practices.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments of the elements and capabilities of the existing judicial system (defense/bar, courts, court procedures and management training, criminal codes and procedures);
  • Work closely with Afghan counterparts, training them in their roles and professional best practices;
  • Perform operational roles as part of the capacity building process.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required for this project;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the court system;
  • Willing and able to accept short and/or long term assignments in Afghanistan;
  • Strong training/mentoring skills and the ability to work effectively with multi-cultural teams;
  • Prior international experience preferred, but not required;
  • Military or law enforcement experience helpful.
