Job opportunity: VISA Specialist - U.S. Government
This is a contract position with Quality Support, Inc. Incumbent serves as a case officer in the Coordination Division, Office of Legislation, Regulations and Advisory Assistance, the Visa Office
THIS CONTRACT POSITION IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
Location: The office is located in Columbia Plaza, (State Annex 1)
Duties
Functions of the position can include:
* Coordinating with the FBI, the intelligence community and other U.S. Government agencies, and policy offices within the Department, on visa matters involving national security.
* Developing opinions on the visa eligibility of aliens falling within the purview of certain ineligibilities in the Immigration and Nationality Act.
* Providing guidance to consular officers abroad on security issues as they concern visa issuance and denial.
Qualifications:
* Must be a U.S. citizen
* Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
* Experience and/or training in researching issues and case-specific problems
* The background and interpersonal skills to work with posts directly and provide operational as well as procedural guidance
* The ability to draft a variety of briefing and action materials, often under tight deadlines
The following, while not absolute prerequisites are also important considerations:
* A working knowledge of immigrant and nonimmigrant visa procedures and regulations,
* A current TOP SECRET security clearance.
Starting Salary: $41,000 - $46,000 per year
