Food Science/Trade issues Expert with Particip GmbH - Tanzania

Based in Dar es Salaam but involved in the data collection and in the participatory meetings throughout the country, the key expert 3 (Food Science/Trade) will provide expertise on the trade component within the Value Chain Analysis and especially for the draft of the call for proposal for NSAs. He/she will work in strict collaboration with the key expert 2 (Development/Trade economist). He/ she reports to the Team Leader.

Qualifications and skills
• Academic background food science (biotechnology traceability) or equivalent. Specific expertise on technical barriers to trade and sanitary and phytosanitary issues.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Speaking and reading Kiswahili is an asset.
• Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
• Computer literate.

General professional experience
• Ideally ten years relevant experience in work supporting marketing access to agricultural products to developed countries

Specific professional experience
• Relevant experience in East African countries is an asset.
• Ideally 3 years relevant experience in project management related to pro poor market access and trade.
