Development Economist with experience in Trade with Particip GmbH - Tanzania

Based in Dar es Salaam but involved in the data collection and in the participatory meetings throughout the country, the key expert 2 (Development/Trade Economist) will provide the expertise and tools for the value chain analysis and supervise the economical and trade main issues within the work. He/she will analyse the economical and financial aspects within the Sustainability Assessment. He/she will work in strict collaboration with the key expert 3 (Food Science expert). He/ she reports to the Team Leader.

Qualifications and skills
• Academic background as economist or equivalent..
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Speaking and reading Kiswahili is an asset.
• Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
• Computer literate.
General professional experience
• Ideally ten years experience in work related to International trade.
• Relevant experience on economic feasibility studies.

Specific professional experience
• Relevant experience in East African countries is an asset.
• Knowledge of Value Chain Approach and Sub-sector mapping tools.
