The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has cleared two Ugandan players to play for Simba FC in the 2009/2010 Tanzanian Premier League season.
TFF information officer, Florian Kaijage, named Emanuel Okwi and Joseph Owino as the players who have been cleared to play for the Tanzania mainland giants, as they fight to snatch the title from their arch rivals, Yanga FC. Okwi signed for the Msimbazi Street giants from Uganda's SC Villa, while defender Owino switched from Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
Meanwhile, Mtibwa Sugar's Uhuru Seleman is likely to face suspension after TFF found him guilty of signing for two clubs. Uhuru moved on to Simba recently, but the federation disclosed that his two-year contract with Mtibwa was still valid. However, Simba's registration committee chairman Kassim Dewji said his club had already sealed a deal with Coastal Union, the team Uhuru served before joining Mtibwa. He said Seleman was playing for the Morogoro based side on loan, which necessitated Simba to finalise the deal with Coast Union. Kaijage said Uhuru's case was complicated, but promised that it would be sorted out during a TFF meeting that would be held later this month.
