Speak for the Child (SFC) supports families and communities in Kenya to improve the health, nutrition, and psychosocial care of young children orphaned and affected by HIV/AIDS, to improve the long-term health of their caregivers, and to increase food security in their households. The current phase of SFC is being implemented in the Western, Nyanza, and Coast provinces of Kenya and has supported 32,174 orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) with committed funding from the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) through September 30, 2010. SFC works with community based organizations (CBOs) to serve as key partners in the delivery of services and support to children. Through field-tested, intensive and ongoing training and monitoring, SFC insures that a comprehensive, multi-sectoral program of care is delivered and that CBO capacity to administer, implement and monitor the program is strengthened.
