Pact Tanzania is an international NGO implementing development programs and will be increasing its program scope during the next few months. We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, energetic individuals to lead the projects and to serve as members of the program team on the implementation of Pact’s USAID Jali Watoto program, Global Fund OVC program and Democracy and Governance programs (DG). We invite applications for the following positions before 30 June 2009: Grant Officers - 2 Positions


Responsibilities
  • Actively participates in the grant cycle process from the time solicitations are issued, through the receipt, evaluation, review, determination, grant issuance, grant reporting and monitoring and close out of activities.
  • Carries out financial reviews and project audits of grantees to ensure donor compliance. Takes regulatory action, as required.
  • Ensures budgetary controls of grantees and provides technical assistance to recipients, as required by the program
  • Provide mentoring and financial assistance to the sub-grantees during the course of the sub-grant period including the review of financial reports, liquidations and management of funds
  • Work closely with other Pact Tanzania staff members and Assist in the compilation of data and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Serve as liaison with counterparts in the Department of Social Welfare, other government ministries and implementing partners

Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in field(s) relevant to fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as described above. Preference to Certified Public Accountants
  • At least four years of progressively responsible experience as a financial manager or senior accountant including experience working with non-profit organizations (required)
  • Preference for candidates which have been involved in grants management, and can articulate the role of grants in development assistance.
  • Desired experience in auditing
