DESCRIPTION
Chemonics International seeks a deputy country representative for the USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET). Responsibilities include: assist the country representative in strategic planning and execution of technical activities; assist with data collection, organizing, archiving, capacity strengthening, and networking at local, regional, and national levels; liaise with FEWS NET's partners in Malawi; contribute to FEWS NET information products and reports. This is a long-term position based in Lilongwe and includes travel within Malawi.


Qualifications

• Degree in economics, agricultural economics, agronomy, nutrition, agricultural climatology, or other discipline directly relevant to food security analysis
• Relevant country experience in early warning/food security information systems, food security analysis, or other related fields
• Excellent computer application skills
• GIS application and mapping skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical and report writing skills
