TweetThis! Scholarships, studentships and bursaries at Brunel University - W. London

Doctoral research scholarships and studentships
Research scholarships may be available across the full range of our research activity. Please note that award numbers and amounts vary each year and in each School, and only a very small number – or none at all – may be available for your programme. Check the web pages for your School or Research Institute for details and eligibility information.

PhD studentships may consist of a cash scholarship, payment of your tuition fees, a wage for teaching or a combination of the three. For vacancies and details of eligibility and how to apply, see Job vacancies or check the web pages for your School or Research Institute.
The Brunel International Scholarship

Taught postgraduate students from overseas (outside of the EU) may be eligible for a Brunel International Scholarship. For full details, visit the Brunel International Finance and Fees pages.

Bursaries
For all bursaries, contact your course director for more details once you have secured and accepted a place on a course. Please note that other scholarships may be available from your School.
  • Four bursaries of £2,500 each are awarded on the basis of academic merit to UK students only who are undertaking an MSc in the School of Engineering and Design.
  • Several bursaries are awarded each year to both home and overseas students studying for an MSc in Biomedical Engineering.
  • A limited number of part-scholarships of £1,500 are available for theMA programmes in Music and Drama. Details will be sent to candidates who have confirmed their intention to study at Brunel in the 2009/10 academic year by 30 June 2009.
Extra-curricular scholarships
Extra-curricular scholarships do not cover living costs or tuition fees. They are available to both taught and research students.

A number of Music Awards to help cover music tuition costs are made each year to students who are not studying music performance as part of their academic course. For further information, visit the Arts Centre pages.

The Brunel Sports Scholarship helps elite performance athletes by supporting their academic study and sporting needs simultaneously. For more information, email the sports scholarship team.
