Bangor University Scholarship - The College of Physical and Applied Sciences
The College of Physical and Applied Sciences invites applications for 4 of the Anniversary Studentships starting in 2009. We welcome applications from Home/EU and International students.
Research Areas
We are seeking applicants in the following areas where we are especially strong.
School of Electronic Engineering
Optoelectronics or Organic Electronics
School of Computer Science
Visualisation or pattern recognition/machine learning
School of Chemistry
Polymer chemistry
We may make a further award outside these subject areas.
Scholarship Information
Studentships
Each holder of a PhD studentship receives an annual maintenance grant of £12,500 (for 2009/10) and an annual research allowance of up to £1,500 (for approved expenditure) with the core grant rising by £500 p.a. Studentship holders do not pay fees. No additional allowances are payable. Successful studentship applicants will be expected to supply around 100 hours per year of teaching/Research Assistance focused on a superviser / research team as part of their development as an academic of the future.

- Covering letter
- A copy of an official transcript of your academic results for first degrees and masters where applicable.
- If results are not available at the time of the application submission, you must undertake to provide results to the College by the end of June 2009 for consideration by the Panel.
- Indicate whether you wish your application to be submitted into the admission process for consideration, should you NOT be offered a Scholarship place.
- You should state the nature and extent of your linguistic abilities and qualifications if your first language is not English or Welsh.
