TweetThis! Fellowship on Women and Public Policy

The Fellowship on Women & Public Policy serves as a premier women’s leadership development program. For 25 years, the Fellowship program has been filling the pipelines of women’s leadership and preparing the next generation of public policy leaders. Many alumnae Fellows hold influential policy positions in government and civil society and continue to lead lives of activism and political and civic engagement.
The fellowship is designed to promote equity and excellence in public service and encourage government to be more responsive to the needs of women, children, families, and communities in New York State. By offering policy-related placements in New York State agencies, the Legislature and statewide nonprofit advocacy organizations, the fellowship encourages graduate students to pursue careers in public policy while increasing the capacity of New York State Government. The program is administered by the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society, a part of the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University at Albany, State University of New York.
The fellowship offers a $9,000 stipend and tuition assistance for academic coursework. The program takes place in the spring semester during which fellows are full-time graduate students at Rockefeller College with policy-related field placements (in Albany) for thirty hours a week from January through June.
