Training on Report Writing Skills

REPOA invites beginning and junior researchers in Tanzania to a training course on “Report Writing Skills”. The objective of this workshop is to provide guidance to researchers on how to write good research reports with potential for publication.

Course content includes:

*Why writing is not about “getting it right the first time”

*How to structure reports and articles more effectively

*How to structure introductions to call to attention the problems being addressed in the research
*How to focus a text for clearer understanding of the message for the readers

*Using sources: what works and what does not

The training workshop will be held in Dar es Salaam from 11 – 15 May 2009
Participants will be sponsored for their travel and/or accommodation and there are no course fees.

Applicants should submit:

- A typed application along with a duly filled information sheet available from REPOA (click on the highlited words to download the .doc file)
- Fax, telephone and email contact details
- A detailed curriculum vitae, including photocopies of the applicant’s degree certificates

REPOA will consider for selection only those who will confirm to bring with them the following three things:

- One’s own draft research report
- A published report in their field that they enjoyed reading
- A published report in their field that they did not enjoy reading

The closing date for applications is 6 April
