Finance Manager Vacancy - HelpAge International (HAI)
An International NGO, based in Dar Es Salaam wishes to recruit a Finance Manager URGENTLY for its Tanzania Office. In this senior position, reporting to Country Director, you will be responsible for a full of financial and accounting functions. Requirements are as follows:
Core Competencies
Strong knowledge and practice experience of all levels of accounting and financial functions, including: day to day transactions; maintaining & updating all accounts regularly; developing & monitoring overall and project budgets; preparing cash flow & core costs projections; maintaining & strengthening financial control systems; and preparation/submission of all statutory returns
• Monitor all Programme costs on a monthly basis, ensuring all expenditures, advances and floats are accurately recorded and accounted for.
• Provide financial guidance to senior management and all project staff.
• Lead the process of all financial planning and reviews during the year and prepare all associated documentation including core costs analysis, project monitoring sheets, funding summaries and organizational budgets
• Prepare monthly accounts and other financial reports for submission to Head Office, including fully reconciled reports of income, expenditure and cash and bank reconciliation
• Good knowledge, understanding and hands-on experience of project accounting, donor reporting, and managing multi-donor funded projects.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, Access) with advanced knowledge of use and application spreadsheets, and be specially competent in using IT for accounting, financial analyses and communication purposes.
• Competent in producing accurate and timely computerized monthly/quarterly/and end of year management accounts and financial reports in accordance with the laid down procedures and within specifies deadlines.
Desired competencies
• Degree or Advance Diploma in Accounting/Finance with CPA/ACCA preferred; minimum 3-5 years experience required, preferably in a similar environment.
• Good experience of senior level financial and management accounting
• Ability and knowledge to develop and strengthen the organization’s financial systems and procedures
• Ability to provide advice and guidance, and where necessary training to staff and partners, to enhance their financial competency and performance
• A good understanding and working knowledge of Tanzania’s taxation legislation and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both English and Kiswahili.
