Gmail, AOL, Comcast, Earthlink, and Yahoo are all said to be affected
At least Google has confirmed to BBC News that its email service, Gmail, was also affected by the world wide phishing attack that occured on hotmail.com, msn.com & live.com (Microsoft) accounts over the weekend.
We recently became aware of an industry-wide phishing scheme through which hackers gained user credentials for web-based mail accounts including Gmail accounts," ...Other email provider companies that have come forward claiming the same includes AOL, Comcast, Earthlink, and Yahoo. "As soon as we learned of the attack, we forced password resets on the affected accounts. We will continue to force password resets on additional accounts when we become aware of them" said a Google spokesperson.
