3. Conditions of Eligibility
NOTE: Applications from candidates who are not eligible will be neither entertained noracknowledged.
1. Candidates must be citizens of Kenya (candidates who hold dual citizenship may not apply in more than one of the countries of which they are citizens).
2. Candidates must have been physically resident in Kenya for a period or periods totalling not less than five years during the ten years immediately preceding the date of the application.
3. Candidates must appear in person before the Selection Committee in Nairobi if required to do so. It is expected that interviews will be held in early November each year.
4. Candidates must have passed their nineteenth birthday and must not have passed their twentyseventh birthday by 1st October of the year in which they will commence their award.
5. Candidates must already hold a University degree of First or Upper second class standard (i.e. with an average score of 65% / GPA 3.7 or more in Kenya).
6. Candidates must demonstrate that there exists at Oxford a course of study suitable for their needs. Subject to ratification by the Rhodes Trustees, the Selection Committee for Kenya is responsible for deciding whether candidates comply with the foregoing conditions and for making nominations. In any case of doubt the Trustees reserve complete discretion to determine the eligibility or otherwise of the candidate.
