Web Research Fellowships in Greenpeace - Washington DC, USA
Position Title: Web Fellow
Department: Research
Location: Washington DC
As a Greenpeace Fellow you will gain hands-on experience organizing, building the grassroots movement, and helping to win our global warming campaign under the direction and guidance of a senior mentor. Through your fellowship, you will build expertise, help promote our campaign to stop global warming, activate dozens of new Greenpeace volunteers, and hold politicians accountable. Fellows will conduct research, contribute to action toolkits and other materials, educate, recruit and train volunteers around the country via phone organizing, help with online outreach, and participate in organizing local grassroots support to win national victories.
Greenpeace is seeking a fellow to help manage and improve websites, including ExxonSecrets.org, StopGreenwash.org, and our investigations site (http://research.greenpeaceusa.org/). These sites are instrumental in helping Greenpeace expose environmental crimes and corporate polluters, and also enhance our climate and other campaign work. We are seeking a motivated fellow that can enhance these sites and promote them in the online community. Individuals with web development skills and interest in protecting the environment are strongly encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
Work with research department to access and recommend improvements to the sites, work with IT department to implement changes, upload new content and designs, collaborate with online outreach team, and build linkages that will help optimize the sites’ visibility and viewership online.
Qualifications: excellent computer skills, experience developing and managing websites, ability to work well independently or in a team, detailed orientated, self-motivated, and enthusiast for protecting the environment.
