Marco Joseph of Tanzania won the 10-kilometer King's Run in Brazil on Sunday, and Nancy Quipron of Kenya was first in the women's race.
The 19-year-old Joseph finished the race in southwestern Brazil in 30 minutes, edging Nicholas Koech of Kenya.
Joseph was coming off a fourth-place finish in the traditional Sao Silvestre race in Sao Paulo on New Year's Eve.
Franck Caldeira of Brazil, last year's winner in Cuiaba, finished third.
Quipron dominated the women's race, beating Sara Makera of Tanzania and Fabiane Cristina of Brazil.
