Research Assistant and PhD Positions
At the Chair of Sensor and Actuator Systems within the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at TU Berlin semiconductor and CMOS-based sensors are developed for biomedical purposes together with academic and industrial partners from material sciences, bio physics, bio chemistry, and medicine within the framework of interdisciplinary cooperative projects.

In this context a number of openings are available as Research Assistant with Teaching Responsibility
(Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin / Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter)

and / or

PhD Student within the Framework of Funding Projects (Doktorandin / Doktorand im Rahmen von Drittmittelprojekten)

The opportunity to work towards a PhD degree is supported in all cases. All openings are full-time positions. Alternatively, part of these openings may also be assigned as postdoc positions. The related salary follows the respective standards at TU Berlin.

The following areas and topics shall be addressed:
- CMOS microarrays for electrochemical DNA detection
- EOSFET-based sensor systems for in-vivo neural tissue interfacing
- CMOS-based sensor systems for in-vivo and in-vitro neural tissue interfacing
- Test and quality control of post-processed CMOS biosensor chips

The technical areas covered within these openings range over mixed-signal CMOS circuit design, PCB based circuit design, semiconductor device physics, assembly techniques, and experimental electrical characterization.

Applicants must have a diploma or master’s degree from a university in electrical engineering or in a similar discipline with excellent results. Knowledge in one ore more of the above mentioned areas, in particular in the area of circuit design, is desired and helpful, as well good English skills.
