TweetThis! 2010-2011 ACI Foundation Fellowships

Fellowships are offered to high-potential undergraduate and graduate students whose studies relate to concrete and are identified by ACI-Member Faculty. The Student Fellowship can have a nominal term of up to two academic years, renewed annually, and may extend through graduate study. Annual renewal will be subject to renomination and reapplication. These awards are granted based on the availability of contributions received.

Students: In order to receive an application and be considered for an ACI Foundation Fellowship, you must be nominated by a faculty member who is also an ACI member. After a student is formally nominated, the ACI Foundation will email an official application directly to the nominated student. To search for ACI-Member faculty in your area, please visit the ACI Faculty Network page.

Faculty: To nominate a student for an ACI Foundation Fellowship, please email the student's name, attending university, and email address, along with your name and ACI member number to scholarships@concrete.org. ACI Foundation Fellowship applications will be sent directly to the student by the ACI Foundation, usually within 48 hours of the faculty member’s email nomination. If this is your first time nominating a student for an ACI Foundation Fellowship, and you would like more information on the process and/or the ACI Faculty Network, please visit the Educator Resources page.

For the 2010-2011 academic year, eight Fellowships will be available. Fellowship recipients will receive the following:
  • $7,000 ($10,000 for the Charles Pankow Foundation ACI Student Fellowship) educational stipend for tuition, residence, books, and materials
  • Appropriate certificates, recognition, and publicity

  • Assignment to an industry mentor
A summer internship, if desired** (internship is required to receive the ACI Baker Student Fellowship, ACI Elmer Baker Student Fellowship, Cagley ACI Student Fellowship, and Charles Pankow Foundation ACI Student Fellowship)

*Fellowship finalists chosen for consideration of these awards must attend the Sunday of the 2010 Spring ACI Convention to be interviewed. Finalists will have the option of being assigned to a Convention Guide during their first ACI convention, if they so choose.

**Internships are for a period of 10 to 12 weeks and must be served the summer before the award year.
