Training on Participatory Research Methods
REPOA invites beginning and junior researchers in Tanzania to a training course “Participatory Research Methods”. The objective is to expose participants to a range of participatory research methods and to provide practical guidance in testing and evaluating these methods in a field setting.
Course content includes:
Understanding participation
· Why participatory research
· Who participates
· Strengths and weaknesses of participatory processes
Methods of Participatory Research
· The problem solving approach
· Visualization
· Ranking
· Appreciative inquiry
Practicing Participatory research
§ Community visit for practice of the different participatory research methods
§ Feedback on community visit
The training will be held in Dar es Salaam from 20 - 29 July.
Participants will be sponsored for their travel and accommodation.
Applicants should submit:
- A typed application together with a duly filled information sheet available at REPOA offices or click here to download.
- Detailed curriculum vitae, including photocopies of degree certificates
The closing date for applications is 15 June 2009 and REPOA will notify the successful applicants by 6 July
