TweetThis! Iran's First Vice President is in Tanzania [updated]

Iranian First Vice President Parviz Davoudi arrived early Monday in the Tanzanian capital city of Dar es Salaam.

Davoudi, upon arrival, was welcomed by the Tanzanian president's advisor and a number of other officials.

Later on Monday, the Iranian first vice-president will be officially welcomed by his Tanzanian counterpart Ali Mohamed Shein.

According to the Islamic republic news agency, Davoudi is planned to meet with Tanzania's President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete as well as the country's prime minister to confer on the issues of mutual interest.

He is also scheduled to meet with a number of Tanzanian businessmen and deliver a speech to a group of students and ulema of that country.

Heading a ranking delegation, Davoudi arrived in South Africa on May 9 on the first leg of his two-nation African tour which has taken him to the mainland Tanzania.

RAIS Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete jana amefanya mazungumzo na Makamu wa Rais wa Jamuhuri ya Kiislam ya Iran, Bw. Parviz Davoodi ambaye yuko nchini kwa ziara ya siku tatu.
Kwa mujibu wa taarifa iliyotolewa Dar es Salaam jana na Kurugenzi ya Mawasiliano ya Rais, katika mazungumzo hayo Bw. Davoodi alimueleza Rais Kikwete kuwa Iran ina nia ya kuendeleza na kupanua shughuli za kilimo nchini.

Mambo mengine yaliyozungumzwa na viongozi hao ni kuendeleza sekta ya biashara, madini, viwanda, elimu, gesi na masuala ya uvuvi.

Bw. Davoodi alisema nchi yake itatoa misaada kwa Tanzania na italizingatia deni la Tanzania kwa Iran ili kuiwezesha kupambana umasikini kupitia sekta ya kilimo.

Rais Kikwete alimuahidi Bw. Davoodi kuwa ili kufanikisha mazungumzo yao Tanzania itaangalia kufungua ubalozi wake katika mji mkuu wa Tehran ambapo itakuwa ni njia ya kukuza uhusiano kati ya nchi hizo mbili.

Kabla ya kuondoka nchini Bw. Davoodi anatarajia kusaini mikataba saba ama nane ya madini ikiwa ni pamoja na Tanzania kupata huduma ya mikopo kutoka Iran -Na Zamzam Abdul, Majira.co.tz
