Leadership training grants

Leadership training grants (LTG) support researchers who are at the first level of their development to acquire postgraduate academic research credentials.

This is a new TDR grant which replaces the former TDR research training grants (RTG). TDR will invite applications for grants for postgraduate training in health research in academic institutions in disease endemic countries (DECs). Particular attention will be paid to applications from the following:

• Least developed countries (LDCs) – as defined by the United Nations
• Female applicants
• Applications that propose a local study programme
• Social science applications to health research.

Importantly, successful applicants must commit themselves to work for three years in a DEC academic, national or non-governmental organization (NGO) institution following completion of their TDR-supported training programme.
