Journalists Scholarship & other Opportunities
The program offers individuals working in all areas of the media -- including managerial, editorial, advertising and technical sectors -- the opportunity to work in different media institutions to learn new skills and develop existing ones.

The awards recognize outstanding reporting for a general audience and honor individuals for their coverage of the sciences, engineering and mathematics. Each category winner will receive $3,000.

The Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships (AFPF) is a U.S. not-for-profit, nongovernmental organization that gives developing-world journalists the opportunity to work as reporters at U.S. newspapers.
Application Deadline: September 1, every year
Two National Association of Black Journalists members will be awarded $5,000 fellowships to gain international reporting experience through self-conceived assignments in Africa. Winners must arrange travel to Africa and complete their news reports by Dec. 31, 2008.
Application Deadline: December 15, every year
MIT's mid-career program is designed for experienced journalists who cover science, technology, medicine or the environment, or journalists who wish to prepare themselves to cover these fields. Fellows spend an academic year on campus, attending courses and participating in twice-weekly seminars with researchers.
